One New Message

My cell is beeping
A light is shining through
I am barely dreaming
Thinking it's a Reply from you.

My heart is pounding
Noise fills the surrounding
Lost in your thoughts all this while
I go ahead and UNLOCK my mobile.

"One new message" - It displayed
My heartbeat is delayed
My mind is forming your image
Excitedly, I reach for my message.

As soon as I click to open the SMS
All the sweet thoughts are gone.
Disappointed, I go back to my bed
And switch-off my phone.

I had been trying to keep my distance
Been trying to maintain a silence
But when it comes to you,
I am so low on resistance.

Trying to sleep but obviously cannot
Your thoughts come back and haunt
I think some distraction is all I want
Hence I'm off to Malaysia for a jaunt...

I know I have to act strong
My misery I can't prolong.
If our bond is lifelong
We will find a place in this world some day
But atleast for now, I think I should stay away.
